Sr Technical Program Manager – Smart Glasses

The Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) will collaborate with internal and external software engineering teams to help conceive, design, and build innovative products. You’ll start by partnering with Product Managers to derive the product requirements and obtain executive approval. You’ll then collaborate with an internal inter-disciplinary team to drive key aspects of product definition, design/architecture, execution, test and delivery. You will be responsible creating the project plan, including the schedule, and motivating the cross-functional team to deliver the product as per the agreed-to requirements. You will own the coordination and planning of required engineering builds at the supplier and drive the configuration management deliverables to ensure a timely release of all assemblies to production.

A successful candidate are experienced leaders with a technical background who are detail driven and have excellent problem solving abilities. They must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. They must have a passion for organizational tools and strong communication skills to organize and rally the team. They should be obsessed with contributing to the development of high-performance teams through rigorous goal-setting, disciplined attention to performance metrics, and continuous process improvement

More specifically, in this role, you will:

  • Lead cross functional software development from plan to design to delivery.
  • Work with key stakeholders in product management and executive teams to define strategy and requirements
  • Work to deliver supporting software and services in sync with milestones and launch timelines
  • Communicate regularly with senior management on status, risks and change control

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • 5+ years of technical program management experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the business
  • Excellent leadership, teamwork, and collaboration skills
  • Skilled in risk management and making complex technical/risk trade-off recommendations and decisions
  • Solid foundation in software design and engineering principles
  • Good judgment and proven ability to influence without authority
  • Independently driven, resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal direction
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with developers, product managers, and senior business and engineering leaders
  • High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
  • Demonstrated experience with project and stakeholder management
