The Transactional Video on Demand (TVOD) Commerce team is seeking a Technical Product Manager to lead new, strategic initiatives to improve the customer experience for renting and buying videos. The team owns the renting and buying experience end-to-end through Prime Video, and we partner with teams across PV and Amazon to bring these experiences to life. This is a full-stack team responsible for developing experiences from the back-end data stores through to the client experience. As part of this team, you will set the product vision, and you will use data-driven insights to identify improvements to customer experiences. You will partner with regional business teams to identify the cross-cutting capabilities they need to launch new content deals and external partnerships.

As a successful candidate, you are highly analytical, customer focused, and adept at working independently in a fast-paced environment. You possess strong technical knowledge and are comfortable working in close partnership with engineering teams to design and implement scalable, performant systems. You use this knowledge to make value-judgements grounded in the needs of our customers over the long-term. You have a proven track record in end to end delivery operating within a complex environment with multiple competing priorities and stakeholder groups.

Key job responsibilities
In this role you will:
• Develop, manage, and lead the strategy for the distribution of Amazon Video’s living room app
• Develop a thorough understanding of the digital video market segments, and continually assess the competitive landscape and emerging industry trends
• Partner with key stakeholders to define the product vision, roadmap and supporting metrics required to ensure that customers can enjoy Amazon Video on their preferred living room device
• Own the development of detailed product requirements documents.
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, design, and program management teams to deliver on the product roadmap.
• Drive projects, products, and feature launches with teams both inside and outside of the Prime Video team including: business development, content acquisition, legal, marketing, finance, customer service, and operations.

A day in the life
You will work with business development stakeholders to understand customer behaviour and wider market trends across all geographies. You will establish success metrics for our products. You will create product vision documents, break them down into MLPs and then work with engineering teams to design and scope the products. You will work actively and closely with our teams software development managers to guide them towards the most significant investments. Finally you will work closely with our engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle to delight our customers with the products you have designed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience owning customer facing products and conducting market research.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
  • A passion for digital video and/or media.
