Job summary
Small Business Empowerment (SBE) helps drive the success of small businesses (including sellers, vendors, developers, authors, and delivery service providers) and underserved business populations (including minority-, women-, and veteran-owned businesses). We are seeking a customer obsessed brand representative with exceptional public speaking experience, strong communication skills, and executive presence to speak at events with external SBE partners, create and manage content, and train others to speak on behalf of Amazon. In this role, you will work with various internal and external stakeholders in supporting virtual and/or in person events that require a public speaker, create presentations with current content, create scripts and talking points to include events that require senior leaders, and will effectively train others to speak on behalf of Amazon. This position will have the unique opportunity to help drive success for small businesses in this role through direct, public engagement.

The ideal candidate has experience working with all levels of leaders, subject matter experts, and VIP speakers. They are an experienced facilitator with great executive presence and are comfortable training others on how to engage at all levels. The candidate embraces ambiguity and ramps up quickly on complex issues. They thrive creating virtual and in-person experiences that drive connection and are comfortable dealing with multiple stakeholders. They will utilize their attention to detail, experience in public speaking and program management, and excellent verbal and written communication skills to ensure high quality results.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage and facilitate public-facing engagements with third party partners and organizations
  • Act as the primary business contact to define requirements, program goals, and opportunities for improvement within our processes for engagement with third-party organizations
  • Ability to travel and support SBE events across the United States
  • Establish mechanisms that enable scale, including mentoring and training internal speakers as part of a train the trainer program.
  • Work with key internal stakeholders to develop accurate and effective content for third-party engagements
  • Develop internal and external speaker database to track qualified speakers, areas of expertise, past speaking engagements, and other details
  • Deliver post mortem event retrospective with data-driven analysis including attendee feedback, goal attainment, speaker performance, and improvement recommendations for future events
  • Drive and deliver best practice and process improvement documents

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years experience in program or project management
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

• 3+ years of public speaking experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to attend in person events that require vaccination status based upon the location and third-party event regulations
• Ability to travel in the U.S. up to 50%
• Experience working independently and autonomously

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field
• Experience working in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional organization
• Demonstrated executive presence, excellent interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to influence others
• Experience working with Amazon.com sellers and/or deep understanding of selling on Amazon.com
• Ability to anticipate potential reputational issues and exercise high judgment, particularly in narrow time frames
• Able to build positive business relationships and work across organizational boundaries
• Experience supporting event messaging and programming and an understanding of event production best practices and workflows
